Introduction

The school has 25 general teaching classrooms, 7 science laboratories, 2 design and technology workshops, a graphics room, 2 food technology rooms, a textiles room, 2 art rooms, 5 computer suites which accommodate whole classes, a gymnasium, a dance studio, a drama room, a music room with practise rooms and a learning resources centre. As a Business & Enterprise College, St Michael's is offering Post 16 education in its specialist area. As a Church of England School, St Michael's prides itself on providing a learning environment in which the quality of teaching is matched by the levels of care, support and guidance given to students, with ideals founded upon the Christian principles of faith, trust and service to others. Opened in 1973 to provide specialist facilities for students with physical disabilities, who have access to the whole curriculum, a purpose built unit within the school caters for the medical needs of students with physical disabilities.
