Introduction

Through its school Vocational Programme, Future Skills Sandwell (FSS) aims to help students realise the significance and relevance of their academic experience in the context of vocational educational training and Modern Apprenticeship Awards.

For Construction trainees, following the initial induction training period which lasts 6 weeks, trainees will move into employment and will be required to attend the training centre for one week in a 6 week period.

During the induction period, trainees undergo a series of short courses which must be passed. The training provider will also monitor the trainee's against agreed standards regarding attendance, punctuality, enthusiasm and suitability.

Facilities

  • Training centres within Sandwell and Dudley
  • All apprentices are employed status
  • Applications are considered from February onwards
  • For Construction, there are 2 start dates - July and September
  • All applicants undergo an initial assessment based on Mathematics and English
  • No specific start date is given. There is a rolling programme for this training area.
